Shift Lead & Local Partnerships (Food Service Exp. Required) — Izzy’s Ices
Location: Downtown Santa Cruz, CA
Pay: $17.00/hr Base + Tips + Performance Bonuses (Average Take-Home: $20.00 – $25.00+/hr)
Schedule: Part-time (15–25 hrs/week) — Specifically Thursday afternoons & Weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced, reliable, and food-safe Shift Lead to manage daily counter operations at our East Coast-style shop in downtown Santa Cruz and assist with local business outreach during quiet store hours.

What You’ll Do:
Shift Operations (80%): Open/close the shop solo, scoop authentic Italian ice, bake off warm pretzels, pull espresso drinks, maintain clean health-code standards, and deliver great customer service.
Local Partnerships / BD (20%): Utilize quiet store hours to execute pre-written email outreach to local corporate offices, tech parks, and schools to book our catering cart.
Requirements:
Shift Availability: Must be available Thursday afternoons and weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
Food Industry Experience Required: Prior experience in a restaurant, café, ice cream shop, or food service environment.
Food Safety Awareness: Current California ServSafe / Food Handler Card (or ability to possess one upon hire). Clear understanding of food safety, proper sanitation, and glove protocols.
Dependable & Independent: Punctual, honest, and comfortable running counter shifts solo.
Barista experience is a plus, but espresso training is provided.
