The Deal: Izzy’s Ices is looking for an independent Lead Operator to hold down the fort at our Downtown Santa Cruz shop.
This is a solo gig—perfect for someone who is completely reliable, works great on their own, and hates being micromanaged.
Most of the time, you’ll run the shift solo during baseline hours. When the peak weekend rushes hit, we scale up to a multi-person crew so you have full backup to crush the line together. We serve up premium Italian Ice, rich custard, hot soft pretzels, and a quality espresso bar.
What You’ll Actually Do:
Run the Show: You handle the counter, the espresso machine, and the music. You’re the face of the shop for your shift.
No Boredom: We don't do the "stare at your phone and wait" thing. When it's slow, you're moving—sampling on the sidewalk, keeping the shop spotless, and talking to the neighborhood.
Hype the Brand: We want someone who actually wants the shop to be busy. You'll be proactive about sharing our social posts with your network and helping us build local buzz.

18+ years old.
Total Honesty & Reliability: You’re running this shop solo and handling the cash drawer. We need someone with high integrity who does the right thing when nobody is looking. If you say you’ll be there, you’re there. No excuses.
Previous barista or food service experience is a major plus.
